N. Jackson Cotney, Jr. was born in Macon, Georgia in 1956, and attended Mercer University, graduating in 1978. He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1981 with a Juris Doctor degree. After 8 years of public service as a prosecutor, including service as the Chief Assistant District Attorney in the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit and as the Chief Assistant Solicitor of DeKalb County, he joined Wiles & Wiles as a partner in 1989. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association and the International Council of Shopping Centers. His primary practice areas include business litigation and landlord tenant matters.
