Practice Areas

We'd like to introduce our particular areas of expertise to you. We intentionally focus on only the following practice areas. The reason is simple, and much to your advantage - we give you the highest-quality, best-informed legal counsel.

Landlord - Tenant Law - Our firm's focus is on representing the owners of commercial real estate, whether it is retail, office or warehouse space. This includes matters involving tenant defaults, lease negotiations and other matters of importance to owners and managers of commercial real estate. Our practice includes representation of our clients in:

Eviction Proceedings - When necessary, we file actions in the state courts throughout Georgia, Florida and Tennessee to obtain possession of the premises and judgments against tenants in default.

Civil Actions to Enforce Lease Obligations - We regularly file suits against tenants to collect rent and other amounts due, and to enforce compliance with other lease obligations.

Bankruptcy Matters - When tenants file bankruptcy, we ensure that our clients are protected through aggressive representation in the bankruptcy court. Our representation of creditors is nationwide, with the assistance of local counsel when necessary, and includes Motions to Lift the Automatic Stay and filing Proofs of Claim and Applications for Payment of Administrative Claims, where appropriate.

Lease Negotiations - Whether for a new lease, a renewal or for a needed amendment to an existing lease, we provide the expertise to effectively negotiate and draft the documents necessary to achieve our clients' goals and protect their interests.

Other Matters of Importance to Real Estate Professionals -

Lien Issues - We routinely work with our clients to have contractors and mechanics liens removed.

Contact with Local Governments - We assist our clients when there is a problem with a local government regarding compliance with ordinances, obtaining needed access to property or just ensuring that services are properly provided.
